<p>Doubt is a <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>signal</strong></em></span> – merely a brief burst of bio-chemical energy pulsing through a minor group of brain cells, inciting a sense of anxiety, carrying a false image of imminent catastrophe.</p>
<p>In the end, it’s just a spark in the brain, less than microscopic, that has no business at all engulfing your subjective world.</p>
<p>It can be listened to and obeyed, guaranteeing failure; or it can be fought and struggled against, expending energy and time wrestling with an illusion; or, it can be enlisted to your aid as a <em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>message</strong></span></em> that you have encountered a fence &#8211; a <strong><em>&#8216;Perimeter of Ignorance&#8217;</em></strong>, to coin a phrase made popular by Astrophysicist Neil Tyson Degrasse – a point where you simply don&#8217;t know &#8216;HOW&#8217; a thing SHALL succeed.</p>

<p>These two acts &#8211; DETECTION and DISENGAGING &#8211; give you a freedom of choice unavailable to untrained minds.  The choice this allows (in the moment you detect and disengage) is whether or not to take immediate action; not action in reaction to the punishment of the doubt, but action in spite of &#8211; INDEPENDENT OF &#8211; the onset of doubt.</p>
<p>And so in that moment you find yourself free by your own hand.  This allows you to further observe the content of the doubtful thought that worries over something it fears you do not possess.  By calmly observing that content, you can take immediate action to remedy that one concern, and make an impotent liar of that unproductive fear.</p>
<p>Therefore, for even faster success, allow doubt to serve as a signal that ignites a <em>CONSCIOUS SELF-</em><em>COMMAND FOR IMMEDIATE ACTION</em> to <strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">find the answer or acquire the necessary skill or experience</span></em></strong>!</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t know how?  You don&#8217;t need to know how in order to start learning how.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t know what to do next?  You don&#8217;t need to know what to do next in order to start learning what to do next.</p>
<p>Just start!</p>
<p>Lacking sales experience?  Immediately begin relentless efforts at selling &#8211; skills or no skills.  While you&#8217;re at it, begin bugging several of the many sales people in your town for advice on the basics of selling and for some of their knowledge and experience.  Don&#8217;t let up.  Be relentless, with a smile on your face the entire time.  Keep the positive, throw out the negative.  You will acquire skills and you&#8217;ll make unexpected sales as you do so.</p>
<p>Lacking professional knowledge in a field you wish to enter?  Immediately begin learning all you can &#8211; no matter how little you understand.  JUST START!  Everything you need will make itself available as a result of your relentless effort.</p>
<p>Lacking capital funding?  Get moving to acquire it, carrying with you the assumption that you will succeed because your sources have been waiting for you all along.  Again, be utterly relentless and you shall achieve your aim!</p>
<p>With every feeling of doubt, hesitance, or fear, <strong>BOLT INTO ACTION!</strong></p>
<p>In this way, doubt ceases to be a brake on your momentum and instead serves as a turbo-charging resource that works to your ultimate advantage.</p>
<p>Does this sound like too simplistic a strategy?  That is because you do not yet know &#8211; really KNOW &#8211; how great an ally doubt can be when coupled with a personal philosophy to take immediate action as a habitual reaction to doubt.  Adopt this strategy, and doubt will become as the lighthouse in foggy weather, warning ship captains away from danger while serving as a landmark to let them know they are indeed moving in the right direction.</p>

<p>First, let me note that while I&#8217;m writing here of Mental Concentration and Thought Control, the reality is that combining the two equates to MENTAL FOCUS.  So, when you consciously work to sculpt your thoughts to improve your point of view BEFORE starting a task, and then prevent your mind from wandering DURING the task, you are engaging, essentially, in an act of Mental Focus rather than its more limited kin, Mental Concentration.  That said&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>How you THINK (thus, how you FEEL) about the task BEFORE and DURING determines your likelihood of doing what needs to be done&#8230;</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong> </strong>The way you THINK about your task determines how you FEEL about it and whether you have the IMPULSE to hurry towards it because you anticipate pleasure.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Increasing Pleasurable Experience DURING A Task</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">One way to help your task be more pleasurable is to NEVER allow your attention to wander from it. A recent Harvard University Study showed that the mind of the average person wanders into daydreaming and distracted thinking 46.9% of the time, and, that the mental wandering resulted in unhappy, unpleasant mental states.</p>
<p>Concentration upon the task becomes a very pleasurable experience and allows you to gain extra benefits, mentally, from the task itself, including better working memory usage when studying.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Need to get excited about the prospect of doing a task?  Want to eliminate procrastination?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong> </strong>Use the <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">&#8220;Scale of 1 to 10&#8243;</span></strong> &#8211; BEFORE and DURING any task that you sometimes have a problem getting started on, ask yourself, <strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">&#8220;On a scale of 1 to 10, how do I FEEL right now about getting it done?&#8221;</span></em></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Doing so beforehand allows you to take note of your thoughts and feelings so that you can make adjustments as necessary, while doing so intermittently during the task calls your attention to center in the &#8220;here and now&#8221; so that you can either concentrate all your attention onto the task (thus displace unpleasant thoughts that may have taken over your attention) or adjust the task itself so that you can enjoy it more (for instance, you could play pleasant, psychologically helpful music in the background).</p>
